The NYR “beat” the Tampa Bay Lightning 4-0 last night in a match at the Garden that was pre-ordained to celebrate the retirement of broadcaster Sam Rosen after 40 seasons (he was also the #1 star of the game). Tampa is set to host the Panthers in the first round of the Atlantic division playoffs while the Rangers are set with tee times on early opening golf courses in the metro area.
Now, with the season over, a darkness decends upon Middle-gotham as the eye of Dolan ponders the fate of coaches, management and players. And of course also plots on how to cause the most disappointment to long suffering Ranger fans. 😱
The official scoring summary is below:

Zibanejad got his 20th goal of the season, the 8th time in a row he has done this while a NYR and his career 10th.
The Rangers season is now departed, but the blog will continue on through the playoffs and draft. Who will be the next former Ranger to hoist the Stanley Cup? Will they have done it more than once since leaving?

Panarin peccadillo costs Quennville even an outside chance of a sniff on Broadway.
Dolan always got along with Tortsie. Just sayin’.
I think Torts George Patton approach does not work anymore. Yeah he is fun to watch go crazy behind the bench and his press conference’s are a hoot.
But;todays player do not respond well to be embarrassed.no matter how much they sink. Can you imagine how many sick days K Miller would have to take if he were our coach?
Hope our new guy is someone who most of us have never hears of and is on the young side.
That being said Drury will most likely screw up the next coach and rooster moves for next year.
Which player received the Xanax from the former employee …did use spread through the team this year ? Because they looked very relaxed
If Torts means The DJ waives …the answer is easy
Rooster moves? Too chicken.
No Torts
Drury > clueless I promise you!
Torts would be a disaster. If you think Laviolette relied on the vets too much, well you would be in for a treat with Torts. Taylor Pyatt anyone?
Torts and Drury …Beezle nightmare!
Is today Lavys day to catch a cab?
I had to bail out at some point. The constant split screen with Sam Rosen blowing kisses was too much.
Don’t want anyone who has coached more than once at nhl level
Beezle
Get used to disappointment, I have. I’m broken!
Imagine he’s gonna make a hard run for Carle
It’s 12:00 already, have Drury, Lavvy and the scouting staff been fired yet? Asking for many friends who are currently on a ledge with one foot off.
MSG is closed for the hockey season but special access to the Chase Ledge for all boneheads is being made available.
4-0 win for 40 years of Sam Rosen.
[blows a kiss, for JBytes]
Chase Ledge 🤣🤣🤣
Stop it, CCCP! Stop it. Right. Now!
I will quit this blog if you don’t stop blowing kisses.
What I will miss most about Sam is, unlike almost all others in his and affiliate positions, he is not a ha ha nitwit trying to draw attention to himself with loud, child-like ‘humor.’
Good Friday massacre called off?
I think getaway day is Monday
Carle = DQ 2.0. I’ll pass. Get an up-and-coming AHL coach.

Even though the Rangers season was awful there were a few positives.. Cuylles play, getting Borgon, Rempe turning into a player and obviously having the blog to turn to . Thank you for resurrecting it more than once and all that you do to keep this place afloat. Im sure i can speak for everyone to say thank you to Beezle and CCCP and everyone here.
Looking forward to some serious changes this offseason, just hope they happen.
Low expectations less pain!
‘Make believin in forever
Is just a lie
And it seems a little sadder
Each time we try’
Spasibo, JP4968. If I didn’t have Beezle’s help, this place would be gone.
So, thank you, Beezle!
The Beez knees!
Indeed!
Monday is exit interviews so Tuesday Lavy is gone?
Rangers in 6
What are the odds Laviolette stays and Drury gets praise for Dolan?
If I were a betting man, I’d wager that Laviolette isn’t going anywhere. Management will overlook this season’s failures, point to last season’s successes, and proclaim he deserves another shot. Remember, this is the organisation that believe in second chances.
As for Drury, well, he’s “still learning the ropes”. They’ll keep him around so he can… erm, grab more rope[?].
Hey, that’s just how NYR roll.

Sadly I agree with you. I repeat myself again. The only thing this organization does right is everything wrong. Even when it appears right. In the long run it’s the wrong run.
Low expectations supports my stability.
No way Lav is back
Agree BobbyO.
Go Leafs Go!
58th time is the charm!
More handsome than Hank?
I was neither for or against Lavi beyond the “I hate multiple retreads” angle. Same with Gallant. But what I find most odd is the people who continue to want to give Drury “second chances” but are ready to toss coaches after one pretty good season and one mediocre/poor season. Often pointing to coaching faults that have been (or should have been) well known prior to the hire as reasons to give the boot.
(Don’t take that as a Lavi endorsement, it is not)
Thank you for the kind words. I’m just a worker drone operating under CCCP’s guidance. And he does drop some very nice gifts from time to time too 😁
My son and I actually got to touch it in 1998. It was during NHL’s Breakout inline hockey tournament in St Pete. My son’s team won the championship for 12 year olds. The championship game was played at the Tampa convention center.
You guys do an amazing job keeping this oasis afloat. Thank you both.
#NYR announce that head coach Peter Laviolette and associate head coach Phil Housley have been relieved of their duties. From Mollie
#NYR assistants Dan Muse and Michael Peca will have the opportunity to interview to be on the next coaching staff, per source.
Rangers announce Laviolette and Housley fired!!! Looks like they are keeping Peca, not sure what his role is. It’s beyond me that Drury gets to hire another coach. Unfortunately, he is GM for life, like Sather, and there is little hope for this franchise going forward.
Eddie Munster has left the building…
Question is—which passengers follow?
Peca and Muse will interview for staff positions. No guarantee they will be staying. Dolan fire the adolescent minded GM. He is way over his small head.
Housley couldn’t coach a flee circus.
Houses is another example of great player’s who were not very good at coaching. A reason not to let Messier near this team. I wonder if our GM is waiting for Sullivan from Pitt
To take the job. We could do worse.
Damn I hate spell check.
Housely great player.
Poor coach
Ask K. MIller.
Did I say I’m not a betting man? Right…
Step 1 of 463 complete.
I can’t wait for the press conference announcing the new coach
New Coach:
We are going to be a team that is hard to play against!!! We will play hard on every shift, be hard on the forecheck and tough in the defensive zone. WE WILL BE EMPHASIZING A NORTH – SOUTH GAME AND EXPECT TO COMPETE FOR THE STANLEY CUP!!!
Rangers Core with NMC/NTC:
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA, that’s hilarious!!! Didn’t the last three coaches say that??? I guess this new guy has been living under a rock. WE ARE THE KINGS OF EAST – WEST HOCKEY!!! We will get rid of you , like the others before you. Winning a Stanley Cup would mean we lose half our golf season, that’s not happening!!!
Meet the new boos
Same as the old boss
Mkh, distressingly accurate
WWPD – Yes, we have all watched this show before, many times. Like Minx, I just expect to be disappointed.
Apparently Chityl said at break up day that he cleared concussion protocol. I guess he plans on coming back. That poor kid is going to have a short life span if he continues to play. Sad to say, it may already be too late for him. CTE is real. Someone has to have a heart to heart with him and save him from himself.
