ORF, in Drury’s eyes, the season ended in the summer, when he couldn’t move Trouba to do whatever it was he had in mind. I would love to know what plan Drury had that Trouba blew up. This entire season has been about positioning themselves for the next two summers. I honestly don’t think Drury cares is the make the playoffs. Funny thing is, the Rangers could win a round. Shesterkin get hot, and Kreider, as he’s been known to do, scores a bunch of goals.
They can still make playoffs but don’t really don’t want to see the beat down that Caps or Florida put down on this bunch unless that gets the DJ to waive
Carey if all of Drury’s plans were in a summer basket of Trouba, just another reason he should go. No plan B or C.

Carey I’m probably one of the few who are underwhelmed by the defensive moves. With larger sample size will be exposed as marginal improvements at best.
The only moves that you had to do were the free agents to get back some draft capital. These other moves haven’t done squat. The same suspects are doing the same thing.
Looking at the schedule, CBJ and OTT play 3x. Though Tankathon has OTT with the easiest schedule left, I think all five teams (CBJ, OTT, NYR, DET, MTL) are going to have a lot of churn in the last 18. The Derbils are faltering too.
Probably the biggest disadvantage NYR have is playing 9 games out of conference.
The Bennet ship sailed a long time ago and will not return to port, nor should it.

Dreary had a rough year since last year’s birch slapping in the ECF. Though tough sell to Jimmy who eats crayons Dolan that they are ripping a team apart that made it to ECF. Not that the Nepo baby JD cares.
Hard to assess anything at this point other than the 24-28 guys in their supposed prime have sheet the bed; Fox, Shesty, and Lazy Laffy; the other failed R1ers Kakko and Flip-flop are mercifully off the team.

They are playing a hybrid man-zone D structure which quickly falls apart during live play.
I think they are better than November but not good and definitely not good enough. To me the positives were the 4th line played more Joe M. even said in the 3rd about the 4th line “ This is the line that should be playing more”
They make alot of defensive lapses often on the offense…but they are more fun to watch , at least for me. I don’t think they deserve to make the playoffs and likely would get wrecked if they did bc they seem to lose to most teams that are as good or better than them.

1st goal was Jones man who scored; settled 3on3; Cuylle man on right goes toward middle, he follows; Jones puck watching as his man goes back door for easy goal.
2nd Fantilli goal Cuylle weak side down to support Vaak’s open man but Schneider with goat horns losing quick wall battle on end boards leading to bang-bang play.
5th goal KAM half assen it toward loose puck, D beats him to it; KAM chasing puck while Borgen goes to get his man; Cuylle moves down for weak side support as puck heads to point and D scores one Quick wants back
Looking at all the goals was very telling. Jones guilty on 2, KAM on at least 1 and Othmann falls down and misses assignment on another.
Its a team game and save for a weird set of SH NYR goals they all stunk up the ice; glad we didn’t fork out the money to see that slop.

How is Bennett’s body going to hold up to his style of play? Like Lindgren just later? He’s struggled to play 70 games in regular season (Conveniently, this is also looking like the first time since 17/18 that he’ll play in more than 71 games.)

After these next for games the season should be pretty much over. Of course I would love to see them sneak into the post season. But realistically the best case scenario is finishing 14th or 15th. That would hit Dolan in the wallet resulting on a true management overhaul. And we would only lose this year’s rd 1 pick.
I’m trying to find a positive needle in that pile of horse sh!t from last night. Rempe is beginning to look like a hockey player. His balance is better and he always had good straight ahead speed. For a guy his size he get to full speed quickly and actually seems to have some hands. Maybe he is getting in tune with his large body and can be a hockey player rather than a side show. He is +6 for the season. They don’t have many + players. Fox is +5 and Cuylle and Johnny B are +8. I won’t say the glass is half full but there may be a few drops in the bottom of the glass. Let him get 19 minutes a game the ret of the way to show what he has.

Wish more of the Ranger players played with the heart, hustle and compete level of Carrick, Rempe and Cuylle. They would be in much better position than they are right now. Most of the old core, just go through the motions, talk the talk, but are unwilling to compete at the level necessary to win a Stanley Cup.
Guys… it’s okay. Have faith- We just need to follow ….the Zibaneplan! – Never forecheck, never backcheck, always overpass the puck, and speak softly during postgame interviews with zero passion! We’ve got this!
If they just lose next three games then the season is over and we can hope for another rebuild.

The only play here is for drury to trade the deadwood in the off season and bring in players who fit the DNA of playoff caliber style of hockey. If Drury does nothing major it will be the same o’le rangers.
Drury has show he is very good at giving out bad contracts too. Not that other GMs aren’t suspect but would rather have someone else than pizza boy giving it a go.

Dolan loves the Knicks. If the Rangers becomes center stage in the NHL it could possibly elevate the NHL over the struggling NBA. Dolan has Drury sabotaging, to a certain degree the Rangers to mediocrity. It is the only explanation to me for the continued stupidity of our GM.
