Point streak continues at six games…
For the first time since the Winter solstice the Rangers are above 500, with a win last night over Utah propelling them to 0.511 P%. There are still many teams in front of them for the final wild card spot but, for now at least, the club is headed in the right direction.
Not that it was pretty. It was not. It took until the early third period, when Smith (9) scored a short handed goal, to wake the team up out of what was looking very much like a regression in play and tie the game at 3-3. Kreider (14) would give them some breathing room with a snap shot deflection goal off a Carrick (8) face off win and Panarin (19) would get an ENG to put the game away.
There is still a lot of work to do to make the playoffs, let alone think about getting past the first round. Defensive problems remain, the goalies have struggled at times and the big name offensive stars continue to underwhelm. But the bleeding has slowed to a trickle and there is at least now hope the club can continue to improve over the next few weeks to be in a position to make a race of it.
The official, full scoring report from the NHL:

The Rangers return to NYC for an important divisional game against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Saturday at 19:00 EST. MSG and FDSNOH have the telecast.

Really impressed with how #93 demonstrated his value; first winning a key Ozone faceoff leading to Kreider’s GWG and then making a key defensive play during 5v6 at end of game getting puck out of zone and then feeding Bread for an easy ENG.
Whut? that was #39; Mr Wonderful; Sam the Man I am Carrick making $1M per, not DJ Bananastand Meeka-boo making $8.5M???
What’s a Ute?
is that like a UTI. And game sat is 19:00

Start of Saturday game adjusted for those who want to subject themselves to first two periods of play 🤣 Thanks for the catch.
Quite a ways until the trade deadline.
It’s early, but Sam-I-Am for the McDonald Award.
Bubble team gonna bubble. 2 more wins and they’re still on the outside looking in past a few other clubs that, as several of y’all have observed, they should be better than.
Hopefully this was constructive psychologically for them to take 5 of 6 on the prairie road trip. Notwithstanding Colorado is apparently embarrassed not to have beaten the rangers by more than one measly OT goal 😂
Ps since it’s not the Go Time post can I still say Igor sucks without having to cite my work?
Pps thank you to WordPress for allowing me to erroneously type “poontang” last night without sending to moderation – your largesse will not be forgotten!
Is this the orange drink they sent to the Moon with the astronauts?
Moontang?
Its what you drink with your hopium
sell, sell, sell!!!!!
Do you sell Borgen or extend him ? If they keep him what does that mean for Schneider?
keep Borden for cheap; been on the team 3 weeks and is tied for D goal scoring lead which speak more to the state of the No O/no D backline…
agree but whats cheap?
If this was Rempe it would have been 36 games. WTF

Small sample size for the Borg. Would listen to all offers for sure before even considering UFA signing/extension.
speaking of… i wonder why Lavi stopped playing Rempe after he reached 5 minutes of ice time. Its like he was mad. I didn’t see anything rhat seemed like he deserved it. Totally guessing here but It was like it was personal … any thoughts?
Got a random text from the Filthy friend saying Kreider is out again, yet I can find nothing from the usual suspects on the Twitter.
I like Rempe but honestly don’t think he has the talent needed to take a roster spot. With that said, why does the coach use up that roster spot for a guy he doesn’t trust or intend to play. It makes no sense. That’s just one of the reasons that I think Lav needs to go, with Drury. Another big reason is the total lack of accountability for Zbad, Laf, Kreider, Miller, Lindgren, Fox. Only 3rd and 4th liners are ever held accountable on the Rangers, going back for the last 3 coaches. That’s part of the problem with losing culture of this franchise. Favorite children against the unwanted red headed step children. You need the same rules for all, so they are all pulling on the same rope.
With each win, I worry more and more about Drury becoming a buyer at the deadline. Given how the last rebuild went with top 10 picks Anderson, Kravstov, Kakko gone and Miller and Laf still here but real disappointments, I don’t see Drury going through another rebuild. Not to mention he already mortgaged the future by trading most of their picks. That’s disappointing because I don’t think they can rebuild on the fly given their cap situation.
well enough connected not to go to SMO

By “most of the picks” you mean “all the second round picks and some of the fourth round picks” – yes (though some 2s will come back for Borg and 9n, + maybe others)
and since it’s established science that the staff cant hit on a first round pick to save their lives, the rebuild will be all 3rd and 5th rounders 😉

Next stop for D’Anger: The Armenian Hockey League
Tony d must be one hell of a toxic person not to be able to keep a job in hockey. He is all of 29 years old. Maybe he should get together with Sean Avery and do a pod cast. I am sure there are enough assholes out there to listen and make them money.
or Tony may get a job in DC
There is no rebuild fellas ..it’s retool …he was selling when they were 12 and 6 and he still is
George Kalinsky passes away. So many of the incredible and iconic photographs that we have had the privilege to see came from his camera lens.
I didn’t like seeing Rempe glued to the bench the way he was. Two things are likely to occur because of that 1) he’s not going to learn sitting there and 2) that isn’t going to do wonders for his confidence. Either play the kid or send him back to Hartford so he can play.
Kids need to play to learn. The only young guy that keeps getting sent over the boards consistently after piss poor performance is 79 and amazingly he makes the same mistakes over and over again. If anyone needs to be stapled to the bench for a bit it’s him. I wonder if he has the ability to learn or perhaps he really doesn’t care. Physical mistakes can be lived with…. mental errors repeatedly committed….that is a different ball of wax altogether.
Re: Tony D. – If you base a large part of an athlete’s income on bonus-laden incentives, you get a player fixated on self-serving statistics over team play. What’s the mystery?
Remper has got himself a 2 Way contract, roughly $800 grand up here ($10 thou per game.). What’s he make in Hartford? RFA in a few months.
Penguins Goalie making $2.5M had a goal and an assist last night; what was Dreary thinking signing Shesty to that ridic contract
rempe did not deserve to be glued to bench. He has been staying out of the penalty box and he’s usually noticeable on the ice
endstrom carrick Rempe had to be a feared 4th line throughout the NHL
now they can score or run you through a wall
what is wrong with Lavi not seeing that?
It may be better than the old isles clutterbuck Martin czikis 4th line that wreaked havoc. Or at least similar
pens goalie w g and a. just needed a fight
Igor contract is criminal. They should lock up Drury in Sing Sing with no pizza access for that one
Actually wwpd, they should lock in up in Rikers and force him to *only* eat his sh*tty pizza 🤣

Nedeljkovic is the only goalie to score a goal in the NHL, AHL, & ECHL
The go-time is in the can for 6:50 pm.
Also: This go-time may trigger some boneheads. Please consider before looking at it too closely.
