The NY Rangers, still barely 1st in the Metro division, will face the San Jose Sharks for the second time this season in San Jose. The first team meeting ended with a 6-5 win for the Rangers. However, we will likely see fewer goals in this matchup. San Jose will be playing its second game in two nights, their third game in the last four days. On paper, this game looks like a clear mismatch, and the Rangers will likely come out on top with ease. San Jose has won their last two games, scoring eight goals. But even with the recent uptick in goals, they have only averaged 2.06 goals per game this season.
The Rangers’ Igor Shesterkin is expected to start in goal. Although his numbers this season aren’t elite, he is more than capable of stopping the puck. The Sharks have only been averaging just over 25 shots per game, which is not enough to pose a significant threat. Although the Rangers are ranked 22nd in goals per game on the road, it’s hard to bet against them in such a favorable matchup. The Rangers have all the necessary tools to come away with a win tonight by multiple goals.

Meeka is the problem; looks like he weighs 145 lbs soaking wet and plays lighter than that. Always a streaky player who gets his points off defensive breakdowns but their system forced him to stay lower in dzone and not leak out so not as many odd man rushes.
Does he care about hockey other than the paycheck? That contract is not aging well at all. Need to send him out of town asap.
Between salary cap and no move contracts, I think we are stuck with this crap for the foreseeable future. It is a shame. At the beginning of the season they almost fooled me into thinking they could play a system and their defense would not suck. Well we have seen how long that lasted.

There is only one way to get the useless “elites” out of town. Do not sell or buy at the deadline. Over the summer, can Pitlick, Bonino, Vesey, Goodrow, Brodzinski, Miller, Kakko, Wheeler, Gustafsson, Twerkin, Laviolette, Chytil and bring up all the kids. The Vets will ask to be traded. It’s better than a letter. Keep Kreider, Trocheck, Cuylle, and Busto, up front. Trouba, Lindgren, Fox, and Schneider, on the back end. Then get fired Drury, man up. Lol! The Minx has Spoken!
