What did they have 40+ shots last night..and a crossbar? Teams are making adjustments on PK and being more aggressive and taking away Ziba one-timer ….they need to make adjustments as well
and what did Halak exactly do wrong last night? First goal maybe was stoppable but but a broken play where his forwards didnt pick up anyone on the backcheck.
I find the level of panic absolutely hilarious. Have they even played 10 games in the season yet?
The 1st line has looked fine, the 4th line has looked fine. The Meeka line and the third line both needed sone work prior to the season and still do, relax some of you…it’ll be fine.

That’s more logical of a lineup. Kreider “should” be lower in the lineup but I don’t think GG separates the hug twins.
It will be interesting later on imo…most likely next season when they have young forwards that are actually important to the future of the club and deserving of roster spots to see where they all slot in.
I don’t see GG breaking up Mika/CK and Bread /VT unless the funk goes on a lot longer. The PP has been a problem during the slump. A couple of PP goals against the Sharks and AVs and this is a speed bump instead of a slump. Some of the other changes may happen. I’m not sold on Carpenter and Goat Boy could be a good bottom six guy if he works on that role. He should do some PK in Hartford to add that to his tool box. One of our waiver gurus can tell us if he can be shuttled back and forth since he cleared once.
I never said Panarin and Trochek weren’t working. I just think Kreider Trochek Goodrow is a good 3rd line.
Forget 3rd line/2nd line stuff. That line would be a PITA to deal with.

If you were griping, then sure. I get frustration but the reality of it- big picture stuff- is that there are ebs and flows as always. and if you look at what’s going on right now those two comments I posted above are both plain silly. As is the notion that GG should be on the “hot seat”. I mean the Avalanche won the Cup and just came into MSG the other night with the exact same record. I think all things just need to be kept in perspective despite the “fun” that comes along with panicking.
This team minus Vatrano, Copp and Motte is basically back to what it was. A high skill team with holes in it that needs to avoid East-West crap in spite of their natural instincts.
Chytil is out again, Kreider either still has lingering wrist issues or is just back to being Krieder, Blais looks like he’s going to need time after 12 months away with his knee injury, Goodrow still doesn’t look 100% back from his ankle issue. Your depth to make up for that is Jimmy Vesey and a recall of the goat. I mean what did people expect? a 20-1 tear to start the season? lol
Addendum: They’ve looked a lot like they did this time last year when they were getting beat up by teams they were equal to or better than. Sluggish starts, no one skating hard or finding juice in their game..It’ll get better, at times it’ll look worse…But it shouldn’t be shocking..
My son had practice at 8:30 last night and the rink is a 40 minute drive. Was bummed that I was going to miss the game until I checked the score and read the thread.
Tyler Motte 2 goals 4 assists 17 hits in 6 games so far this season…averaging 16 minutes a game.
Reaves has better sense of humor tho…
Problem this year is no cap space to find a Motte, Vatrano, Copp, Braun.
They’ve got to find answers from within or it’s gonna be a long season…

That the NYR did not re-sign any of Motte, Vatrano or Braun was not a cap issue, it was a “we don’t want to do that” issue.

Vatrano was related to more ice time for the young wings but I think Motte was definitetly cap driven… they wanted him but couldn’t fit him …I wanted them to move Reaves to make room
