St Pete Eli
Apparently we did Wick!
Gravy
Can’t imagine they will, but cannot get complacent. They need to look back one series to see that 2-0 doesn’t mean it’s over.
Gravy
There’s a few differences compared to when Carolina was up 2-0. Igor was solid in those two games, and the play was mostly even.
To me, Vasilevskiy has not looked completely locked in. He kept the game close last night, but also had a minimum of 6 pucks beat him (8 if you count the ones that squeezed through him).
cooscoos
Ottawa – 9000 people per home game. Guy calls up box office, says he wants to buy 6 tickets, wants to know what time the game starts. Senators’ rep says: “What time can you be here?”
St Pete Eli
I know this series is far from over but it does appear to me the dolts are have match-up issues caused by the 3 yoots elevating their game. However they did make adjustments on the PK taking away Zibanejad’s lasers. I still say Stromeo is the weak link on the big unit. I would love to see Laffo-Busto take his spot! But that is unlikely to happen.
cooscoos
You know D guys like Justin Braun are of value when you never hear their names.

True, Eli. Emergence of the kids has given NYR depth their opponents haven’t been able to match. And the fourth line is really solid too.

Coos agreed about the Braun type D-man. I’ve always said exactly that about solid depth defensemen.
As for the masks, I think it’s league policy for anyone interviewing players.
It’s why they keep Hank in the studio. Cant cover that handsome mug or an angel may weep somewhere.
Beezle
From the local Minx area paper:
The Lightning seemed to find some answers after pulling Vasilevskiy for an extra attacker over the final four minutes.
They got pucks behind New York’s defense, won battles and got shots to the net. Nick Paul scored to bring Tampa Bay within a goal, and it came within inches of tying the score during the frenzied final minute.
“I think just our urgency to win those battles and keep our feet moving in the (offensive) zone really turned the table at the end. … Obviously not the result we wanted, but … take that third period, remember it and just keep going from there” said Paul.
Hmm.. wonder if the extra man had anything to do with that?
cooscoos
Thoroughly disgusted by camera work. Unquestionably ordered to avoid early part of scrums and pre-fights. They can’t be that bad and incompetent naturally- can they?

I actually think Chytil is showing fortitude- if you noticed, Tampa was targeting him with lots of after the whistle cross checks in the lower back. His game didn’t seem to shrink though.

Spoken like a man who has placed some bets. If Chytil had gotten up and knocked McD on his butt after he cross checked him into the goal frame I would have been thrilled. He’s not there yet. He is willing to take abuse to make a play but needs to push back a bit more. McD also needs to be reined in a bit. Trouba has had to fight after he did less than McD has done. He is taking a lot of liberties with the Ranger skill players so far.

was too excited during the game to say much, but. Agree: what was Maroon taking aspirin or dope. Salmon Joe I will never complain about you again. The interview during the game is another reason to have the sound off.:especially when ESPN has the D team of play by play guys. Whoever is telling them not to show after whistle scums should be fired this is the Playoffs and that is important crap. Love listening to Valley and Shampoo Boy after the game. It’s fun when what Valley is saying about Tampa goalie blocker side is repeated on ESPN verbatim. Last but not least thought I would fall out of my chair when Henri said 4-0 sweep. The look on Valley face was beautiful. Well on to Tampa and Victory. LET’ GO RANGERS
Old Ranger Fan
I see a lot of people comparing Trouba to Scott Stevens. I think Trouba is a much cleaner player. He actually lets up on some hits and seems to respect his opponents more than Stevens. Many of Stevens’ big hit were on players engaged with another Devil. Those are dangerous hits that I think the league could legislate against not unlike the football rule about blocking players engaged with someone else. The guy being hit can’t anticipate the hit and protect himself. Also the play is over and they are all borderline interference calls. Stevens did it a lot and many of his hits would be called in today’s NHL. Trouba usually hits the guy he is defending.
Old Ranger Fan
Valley is pretty dorky but knows his stuff. I’m sure that he and Hank are repeating stuff that Benny has told them many times over. Carp said that on twitter. And even compared it to Alex Ovechkin telling Hank “All series long, baby!”
I don’t think a champion like Vasilevsky or his teammates really care about what 5,000 drunken fans are chanting at a sporting event. They don’t need motivation—their 2 consecutive Stanley Cups provide plenty of that.

Lindgren’s too small to play effectively in the NHL. He should be 6’4, 220. like K’Andre.
Good morning, Boneheads!
Go Time at 2:30 pm.
😂 if Lindgren was bigger then the entire NHL would be scared
The Miles are hard on him. But he may not be able to play like this in his 30s. Obviously we are enjoying the ride for now.
Love his work ethic and effort. Great attitude. Awesome teammate and D partner for foxy
Eddie J. Agree 100% with the “Igor’s better” chant. It’s freeken stupid. “We want the cup” would be much better.
Unfortunately stupidity cannot be regulated.
I want to know what Ultra-Maroon was tossing in his mouth?
#55’s miles are scars. So long as he stays healthy, he should thrive. No contact Miller, like Staal, might go on with his mediocrity in one uniform or the other to age 40.
When Igor wins a few cups, then he’s better.
Until then, stuff it.
