Good morning, boneheads!
They didn’t have it last night. They didn’t have it in them, they didn’t have it in goal, they couldn’t kill penalties, their bottom six was the only group that was able to maintain any resemblance of forecheck. This was one of those letdown games that nobody would be awfully upset if they lost. I know, I wouldn’t. After that emotional win against their likely first round opponent. Against another team that had nothing to lose. Except they played at home after an embarrassing 11-2 loss.
But it’s remarkable how they can change gear when they need to. Showed that all season long, I’m sure this will help in May. The result? Fourteen games to go. If they go .500 from now on, they will finish with 107 points!
