Let’s not forget DeAngelo was at fault on the first goal, that’s the important thing. That 5-on-3 shorty, end of the world (it was an amazing mistake, to be fair). Even before tonight’s big game it’s amazing it’s been a thing that the Rangers would ever consider trading this gem of a player.

To Skjei, James, not everyone–I’m hardly the only one who thinks he’s good. One of the reasons I always listen to the away feed whenever possible (other than the Rangers announcers being so god-awful) is you get a perspective on your team you don’t get from fellow Boneheads egging each other on to see who is most popularly hated. Away announcers call it as they see it, and they don’t see our whipping boys the way we see them.
DEAngelo got a “go prove it” contract and offensively he has done just that.
Before we go comparing him to Brian Leetch let’s keep in mind that Leetch could DEFEND

Well Norm all I can say as a guy who isn’t Skjei’s biggest fan after watching him regularly over the last two seasons is that there are two types of players. The good ones that play poorly for a stretch every now and then…and the lousy ones that play well for a stretch now and then.
Since I love my team, I will hope with everything I have that Skeji is the former and not the later.

After they Rangers beat the Blues on Saturday, sheet gets interesting….
Hmmm…. Minx and I predicted a stinker tonight. Don’t know about Minx, but I’ve been following this team since 1972. You think I’d have them figured out by now. Evidently, I do not.
They were playing pond hockey, fortunately it was the dust devils.
Just an incredible night for the Rangers and Tony D. On a personal note, I have always been really high on this guy, and have never dismissed him for any of those sideline issues that seemed to take precedence in discussions of #77 just one short year ago.
He has attitude and swagger; he is unique in some of his talents, with a lot of character. What better for NY? Also not afraid to get in there and scrap or defend his teammates. He is our defensive version of Lemeiux, kinda.
Think that Quinn and Ruff DO deserve a lot of credit for his maturation and development. A guy some said was an easy bust. A guy that Tampa Bay didnt want to “deal with.” Plus I share a birthday with him, on a personal note. So it’s all very nice to see.
Anyhow an overall very wild, very loose game (poor Buch) that I don’t put much stock in as it correlates to overall team and direction, but damn man, history is history. Those assists to Bread and Kreider off the wall were as good as anything I’ve seen, good as Fox, all world, whatever you want to call it.
Shesty looks like a brick wall and is commanding his way onto this team. He looks like a poised, serious pro, and can handle the obvious defensive lapses. He makes a strong case against Georgie, even for those of us in his camp (which I am).
Lots of questions and convos to be had. Tony has 36 pts and running our power play while playing mostly 3rd line minutes. Fox and Trouba are here to stay. Nils Lundqvist and Robertson are coming.
Strome shows no signs of stopping his play and could be locked up for a modest sum. A player we gave up Ryan Spooner for.
Panarin is easily the best free agent return on investment in the NHL right now; we got him cheap.
I dunno, call me a believer, but the Baby Rangers have a lot to be excited for, and I am staying confident that Davidson and co. will keep finding more players like we are seeing now to get us real competitive, real soon.
