Tonight the Rangers take on the Seattle Kraken, the last game in their Canada/west coast sojourn. Can they make it three wins in a row?
The NYR enter with a recent come from behind win over the Oilers in OT and in regulation over Vancouver. The Kraken dropped one in OT to MTL but beat EDM and WPG prior and are off to a good start this season. In injury news, former NYR high draft pick Kaapo Kakko makes his season debut tonight for the Kraken after injuring his hand during preseason.
Slight tweaking of the lines again – we now get to see a #1 line of presumably the team’s best players – Panarin, Miller and Zibanejad. Laba has moved up to the 2C after a few strong games and he’ll center Cuylle on the left and Lafreniere on the right. Otherwise, all is as it was.
The refs tonight are Graham Skilliter (822 GP) and Jordan Samuels-Thomas (98 GP). Skilliter gives a slight preference to home team favors while Samuels-Thomas is definitely a road team ref. Fingers crossed!
Keys to a Ranger victory: Score more goals than the other guys!
On this date in history: There is no NYR history of significance. Oh well.
