I’d stick to the same game plan, except this trying to pass through legs and skates East-west doesn’t work so well against the Tire Fires.
I expect Chytil/Lafreniere/Kakko to be an impact at some point tonight. Their play-style is best suited to play against the Fishsticks.
Over 70% on faceoffs, just like the game against the pens. Hopefully that number doesn’t change as drastically by the end of this game like it did against them.
4ever, it’s reminiscent of most games where they dominate.
This has been similar to the pens game. At least they scored on their power play.
Also — the Fishsticks don’t have the firepower of multiple hall of famers…. But it’s the Fishsticks playing the Rangers so…. :/

Fishsticks cash in on every break
Compared to last season, Shesty really looks bad. There’s no way he was going to replicate last seasons performance but I can’t believe anyone thought he’d be where he is right now.
Meanwhile, Sorokin was great last season and is even better this season.
Shesterkin has been deked on breakaways successfully a lot more this year than he was last year. He was all over the place on the Barzal breakaway. This is always the way Islanders games go against them.
Good Shesty or bad Shesty? Is it possible that this is the real Shesty? 3 on 13 shots. He’s being outplayed again. At least he won’t see the Isles again this season.
Kakko can come out to the blue line with the puck. Don’t bring it past the top the circles.
This game is a win if, for the second consecutive game, they don’t allow an empty netter. That’s a positive step.
The best present we can all get as fans of the Rangers is the one the schedule gave us. We don’t have to watch these guys for 4 full days.

That “5th gear” served to open up the game with the Rangers matching chances and finally burying a couple.

I did it the whole game without one negative comment, it obviously paid off. Of course I didn’t comment at all. I’m so happy they beat the anchovies! Pretty goal by the Fragile Finn who doesn’t look very fragile these days. Maybe just maybe the goof he made on the Bar-Zuul goal will wake him up and he will start shooting the puck more.
