Slightly off-topic: Is NHL going to have the same RFID Next Gen Stats as what NFL now has? I read they inked a deal with Amazon last Feb. to host data/video and do some “AI” type stuff but it wasn’t clear if they were going to the same extent as NFL?

Trouba is a righty and is 3 or 4 years younger when he signed his 7 year deal.

Both mcdonut and Trouba are better when they are the “offencive” guy of their pair. Trouba is also more physically overt and has been healthier than mcdonut over their respective careers.
Mcdonut, for the majority of his career here has better partners than Trouba has had. Mcdonut has had a great partner in cernak with Tampa and Trouba had a great partner in morrisey his last year and a half in Winnipeg (the same partner that pionk now has).
Trouba is not overpaid, well not unless mcdonut is too because Trouba being a righty and more overtly physical along with younger and healthier (until recently) is worth the extra $$$$. If anything, Trouba might be a bit underpaid before long.

If you take a narrow view of the center ice position, yes Danualt a third line center. But if you look at the bigger picture, TOI, Faceoffs, and ability to matchup against the big boys, well that tells you a different story. BTW, Danault has had 47 and 53 point seasons.

I’m not a worry about the cap hit guy. If you want the player, do what it takes. It does sound like 6×6 is the number.
I know term is supposed to bring the cap hit down, but, would you give Zibanejad 4×10? 4×11? I say this because I know the big concern with Zibanejad is age, and concussion history. More cash less term a good comprise?
They will have to trade Strome, BDL. If not right away then eventually. I am not concerned about calling Danault or Strome a 2nd or 3rd line centers, the only question is who are Danault’s wingers?
I’d take Danault, I guess Ritchie or another “playable toughness” bottom 6 guy that can play up and down the lineup when needed…. Nemeth (although I wish his cap it was 1.5-2 mac for TWO years, not 2.5 for 3 which is overpay) and really that’s it. Let the chips fall where they may, and if a sensible trade for chytil/strome is available that MAKES SENSE, have at it.

I think Eichel trade, one way or another, will give us a good idea of what to expect from Drury in the future. At this point, while it sounds he is still highly involved, he is not budging.

Question is, who gives in 1st….
Buffalo seems to be stuck on hitting a HR for their star player, and rightfully so. But if Drury gives in, this is the type of trade that could set us back in a big way, all for ONE player…..and a player that could potentially have a debilitating, career shortening injury. There’s just NO way I make this trade.
I have said many times, I do not want Eichel in NY. For many reasons. But I am going to say that his medical condition isn’t as black and white as it may sound. I hope his medical records were available to everyone who is involved in this trade, Drury including. And I’ll tell you that with modern approach most of those issues could be permanently treated by HSS and other institutions in NY.

Georgiev problem is that under his goalkeeper’s armor there is a very thin skin and a big Ego. It started with a poorly hidden but deep resentment, when he found out that the much-praised Shesty was coming clearly as the numero Uno. This irritation, as well as of course, the feeling that he is at least that good, if not better, and was first in line after Henrik, triggered his mental instability and further escalated in losing control even in small, rather insignificant (under normal circumstances) incidents, as well, I believe, sometimes, in his otherwise unexplainable, failures in the games. He is the damaged good and should be dealt with (and away) at the much earlier stage after Shesty arrival. I thought this than and sure now.
